Discover the essence of Handcrafted Candles

Meet the Cacciatore Family

Tavian Hunter

In 2023, I started a solo journey to make candles. In my journey, I had a hard time excelling my craft in making candles. I was struggling to get the scent to come out of the candle (hot throw). By doing some research, I started to learn a little more and became an excellent candle maker. Once I started to get the hot throw out of the candles, I started to give the candles to family and friends. They were amazed that I made candles, wanted more and I was told that they would even purchase them. I started out making 8oz candles with only a couple of scents, but I wanted a bigger vessel so I invested into 14oz vessels. During this journey, I noticed that not only do I like to make candles, but I love the reactions from other individuals when they smell a good scent. While on my journey of candle making, I wanted to start a family business with my wife Tayler that will be fun for the both of us. Once I recommended that we should start a business she came up with the name Cacciatore. My brother Brandon noticed that I was making candles and told me that he would like to learn how to make them and wants to help me grow our business. My ultimate goal for this business is to make different variations of products with scents, not just candles, collaborate with different companies, and most importantly, satisfy our supporters.

Tayler Hunter

In 2023, my husband, Tavian and I reconnected, and it was brought to my attention that Tavian makes candles. On our first date, he gifted me with an 8oz candle with the scent “Baby Powder”. I was amazed by the scent and how well the candle burned. That is when he did let me know that he makes his own candles in hopes of starting a candle business one day. Tavian even taught me how to make a candle as a part of one of our date nights. I was very interested in the craft. In 2024, we were discussing the possibility of starting a candle business, but we wanted to change the name. We brainstormed and initially thought we should name the business “Hunter” or “Hunter and Co.”, but none of those stuck with us. We thought longer about it and we came up with the idea to look into the meaning of hunter and how it is pronounced in different languages. Within that moment, we decided on Cacciatore. Cacciatore is Italian for “hunt” or “hunter”. Time went on, life began to change for both of us and we welcomed our daughter into the world in 2025. While on family leave for several weeks and were within the newborn bliss, we were able to engage in a lot of planning for Cacciatore & Co. We included our family member, Brandon, within the family business and went to work. We prayed, researched and planned thoroughly. Today, we are excited to launch our different scents and more!
